Powder coating is process of applying a protective and/or decorative finish to wide variety metal products that are used by industrial and private consumers. The paint used in this process is a dry, finely ground mixture of pigment and resin, which is applied with a pneumatic gun. As the powder leaves the gun it picks up a static electrical charge. When the charged powder comes in contact with the grounded work piece it adheres to it by way of the static charge. Next, the coated work piece is heated to 210 degrees in a curing oven. As the powder begins to flow out from the heat, it fuses to the work piece to create a quality uniform finish with high durability.
